ABOUT THE COMPANY
Swedbank’s Norwegian operations are part of the bank’s Large Corporates & Institutions unit (LC&I), which offers corporate and investment banking services to companies and investors in the Nordic and Baltic region. LC&I is organized in sector-based client teams offering tailor-made solutions to large corporations and financial institutions, matching the client’s specific needs to Swedbank's total service and product portfolio. Our investment banking offering includes services within corporate finance, research and equities based on our experienced and professional advisory culture. LC&I has offices in Oslo, Stockholm, Gothenburg, Malmö, Riga, Tallinn, Vilnius, Helsinki, Copenhagen, Shanghai, New York and Johannesburg. In mid-2017, Swedbank entered a strategic partnership with Kepler Cheuvreux, creating a leading equity house with strong local presence in the Nordics.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for highly motivated individuals with strong commitment, initiative and drive, looking for a career in finance. You have strong analytical skills, you are eager to learn and consider yourself a team player who can handle a fast-paced and challenging work environment.
WE CAN OFFER
At Swedbank you will have the opportunity to experience investment banking, corporate banking and the capital markets from several departments at the beginning of your career. This will give you a unique and complete understanding of the different aspects of our business. You will be given significant responsibilities early on, which will also include close dialogue with companies and investors. We offer you personal development, a steep and demanding learning curve in a fast-paced, dynamic and highly professional environment.
"After two years working as a management consultant, I chose to join Swedbank’s Credit Research division for two key reasons; to develop my analytical and quantitative skills further, and to follow a desire to learn more about the finance industry. Honestly, I was prepared that this would come at the cost of less time with clients and more time in excel spreadsheets than in my previous line of work – but that was a mistake. In fact, I have been given more responsibility in terms of client contact now than I had, effectively meaning that not only do I feel like I am improving my analytical skills, but also my commercial skills. And even though it can be a little scary sometimes, I get all the help and support that from more senior and experienced colleagues I need to do well. I would definitely recommend coming to work with us."
Jørgen Hannevik, Credit Analyst, Credit Research
“After my graduation in June 2016 I started as a Trainee at Swedbank, and after six months I got a position as an Analyst in Structured Finance. From day one I met with customers and was able to build an extensive internal and external network. Further, given that Structured Finance is not organized in sector teams I was able to learn about companies in different sectors which have developed my analytical skills. My development was encouraged by experienced colleagues while having a lot of fun. I highly recommend Swedbank as an employer."
Hege Tjørsvaag Brattebø, Associate, Structured Finance
Application deadline is August 30, 2019.
