UNICEF is UN's own fund for children and the world's largest child support organization. UNICEF consists of both country offices and national committees. The country offices are working directly with relief aid and emergency relief in fields, while the national committees are working to raise funds for UNICEF’s international work. With more than 160 country offices and 36 national committees, we promote children’s rights in 190 countries.
NHH Aid is one of UNICEF’s signature partners, and as part of the collaboration, UNICEF Norway offers an 11-month long internship exclusive to NHH students. As an intern you will spend half the period as part of the market department at the Oslo office, and the other half in the education department at UNICEF Malawi.
This unique internship will help you realize how humanitarian work can make good business models and how a company can use its technology and core competence to help those in need. You will get a valuable experience of how UNICEF and the UN system work, both in developed countries and in developing countries. It is also a good start if you want an international career.
Similar positions in the UN system for applicants outside this agreement normally require master’s degree or PhD and/or at least two years of relevant work experience, in addition to speaking two official UN languages.
The internship is rewarded, and two interns are employed annually.
